My profile on Linkedin
“The most practical thing we can achieve in any kind of work is insight into what is happening inside of us as we do it. The more familiar we are with our inner terrain, the more surefooted our teaching – and living – becomes.”
Parker Palmer
Personal:
I have a long term and ongoing daily personal practice of mindfulness, self compassion, meditation and hatha yoga. This is my life…. it is an imperfect journey of learning and exploring. I participate in regular teacher led meditation retreat work including multi day silent meditation retreats.
My passion for self exploration, awareness and acceptance has led me in many directions over the years. I came to mindfulness and self compassion practice predominantly driven by my own suffering and longing for freedom and peace.
My loves are: being amongst nature and animals, growing food and herbs, painting and drawing, dancing and anything that allows me to be in tune with natural rhythms.
‘I aspire to live slowly, simply, consciously and with compassion to myself and others.’
My values are integrity and authenticity and this is how I endeavour to teach and show up in the world.
I live rurally in beautiful North Canterbury on a permaculture property with my husband, horse, steer, cats, chickens and dog.
Meet Sammy
Sam is an important member of the Mindfulness North Canterbury team, as he attends mindfulness retreats and workshops.
He models mindfulness beautifully, is a natural mindfulness teacher and can be a helpful aid to evoking our natural state of compassion and curious, kind awareness.
